Seth Wescott was born on June 28, 1976 in Durham in North Carolina. He learned snowboarding at the age of ten where he showed tremendous talent. He began competing at the tender age of 15. He stopped all of his other sporting activities and competitions, just to focus on snowboarding. He made the right decision. Wescott has amassed numerous medals and titles including the following:
In 1997, Wescott became involved in Snowboard Cross. Just ten years short of his involvement, Wescott went down in history. At the 2006 Winter Olympics, Seth Wescott competed against three other snowboarders in the finals of the snowboard cross: Radoslav Zidek, Paul-Henri Delerue, and Jordi Font. Wescott came in first, making him the first ever Olympic gold medalist for the snowboard cross.
Wescott is not only an avid snowboarder, he is also an entrepreneur. He currently is the co owner of a restaurant and bar called The Rack. He has also ventured out into designing some gear for snowboarders.
There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Seth Wescott is one of the greatest snowboard cross racers that has come onto the snowboarding scene. He lives to snowboard and shares his passion with the world. He is not in it to win it, there is something more surreal to his snowboarding passion. He just ends up winning subsequently.
