How to Buy Snowboarding Boots - Biggest Decision after Choosing a Snowboard
Now that you've bought your snowboard you are going to need snowboarding boots that fit you and your board. Most people purchase their snowboarding boots from the same manufacture that they bought their snowboard from. However, it is not necessary. Just make sure they are a perfect match for your feet and your board. Here are a few more guidelines for buying that perfect fitting snowboarding boots.
- You need to try your boots on, but you also have to realize that your feet may swell while snowboarding and you will be wearing snowboarding socks. You should talk to a pro, but the best way to choose your snowboard size is to bring along your socks and try on the boots and go up to half a size larger. If you are going to purchase hard boots, you should not be able to move your toes around and if you are purchasing soft boots then there should be a little wiggle room.
- After trying the boots on and tying them up as if you were about to go riding, you should stand up on your tippy toes. If you can lift your heel then these boots do not fit. The boot is supposed to support your heel by not letting it lift up. If there is minimal lift, then the boot is not right for you. However, you can add accessories to make the boots fit perfectly. Such snowboard accessories include ankle straps, tongue pads and a butterfly.
If you buy the perfect snowboarding boots, you will not have any problems out on the slopes. If you buy snowboarding boots that are not the perfect size, you could be in pain all day long and for days to come.
