
686 Enterprises was created by a skater gone snowboarder, Michael Akira West. The company was started in 1992 on November 13th. The name was formed by an important date for his grandmother (6/86) and the numbers also add up to his age when he established the company (6+8+6=20). The company seeks to create fresh, unique and innovative snowboarding gear for the rider.
The company designs for men and women. Every winter, fall and spring they have a new snowboarding collection for both men and women. 686 Enterprises carry a variety of gear including Performance Jackets, Performance Vitals, Denim and Pants, Shorts, Board shorts, Knit Tops, Custom Hoodies, Premium Printwear, Headwear and Belts. 686 Enterprises even has various product lines for both men and women which include Times, Acc, A.R.D, Smarty and Mannual. These products normally sell out way before the season starts both' in stores and online. This is the most popular snowboarding line of clothing on the market. In terms of pricing, the products are average for quality snowboarding gear and often they can be found at discounted rates. Jackets normally sell for between $150 and $350 while pants sell for between $120 and $250.
