Signal Snowboards is a young company that has done extremely well for itself in a very short time by producing only high quality snowboards. Signal Snowboards was started in 2004 as a group project by Dave Lee, Matt Hammer, Kellie Talbot, and Ian Fels. These snowboarders, artists, and all around passionate people took pride in their creative side as well as their snowboarding skills. They've taken this passion and created a company that they can be proud of, and the 1,350+ friends on MySpace show they're obviously doing something right.
Signal snowboards are made in the USA and all made with an American Poplar wood core. There's no substitute for this, each and everyone is made with poplar from tip to tail. Many of their best boards are designed in a twin tip shape with medium flex, and an impressive sidecut to help it handle in almost any condition.
What's interesting about Signal, and what has helped this company's success, is that they tie themselves to a lifestyle. This is a company that says it's not about the money or the company, but that being part of the snowboarding industry means being part of a lifestyle involving the personal decision to live an unconventional lifestyle, taking the paths less traveled and finding joy and friends along the way.
It's not often the owners of a company talk passionately about love and happiness being far more important than money, and about art, music, and snowboarding as passions worth throwing yourself at over the making of money...but that's exactly what Signal is about, and what Signal's owners pride themselves in believing, and they run the company accordingly.
Signal Snowboards also designs snowboard clothes, shirts, and they even provide pages to showcase unsigned bands and artists. This is a company that has also gone into snowboard films, and even brags about their own brand of organic coffee. All the while, they continue to create exceptional snowboards that are respected throughout the entire snowboarding community.
This is a company founded and infused with passion and belief, and the end results show the best of both.
