Palmer Snowboards is a respected snowboard company that was founded by Shaun Palmer back in 1995. Shaun Palmer wasn't just a professional snowboarder, but he was an athletic legend among snowboarders, and was recognized all through extreme sports. In fact, Shaun was named the "Extreme Sports Athlete of the Year" in 1998 (three years after founding his own company) by the USA Today.
At the time, Palmer Snowboards built what was considered one of the newest, cutting-edge factories in the world. Palmer was built as a factory that would be state of the art, and would specifically concentrate on not only making snowboards, but making snowboards that were innovative and would help snowboarders take the sport to new heights.
Palmer was one of the lead pioneers in making several developments on designing snowboards. These included lightweight honeycomb, cap sidewall, inlaid bases, and they even have their own special design, called "The Power Link System" that is even U.S. patent protected.
The Palmer snowboards lived up to their billing and the surrounding excitement, and are often considered some of the most durable and consistently excellent snowboards from year to year of any snowboard. The technical skill that goes into each and every snowboard is amazing, and according to industry numbers, Palmer has one of the lowest rates of warranty payments of any factory.
The "lightweight honeycomb" allows Palmer to make snowboards that are equally strong and durable as boards made out of wood, but they are literally up to ten times lighter, allowing greater flex and control that many professional snowboarders will swear by.
Palmer Snowboards continues to take pride in being innovative and cutting edge, and you can count on quality continuing to be a major concern. When a snowboarding legend puts his name on a snowboard, you know he's also dealing with his reputation. With his reputation on the line, Shaun Palmer's company made boards that continue to bring credibility and respect to his reputation.
