Nitro Snowboards: Freestyle Snowboards at Their Best

Nitro Snowboards is a well respected Seattle based company that make many well designed and cutting edge snowboards. They are particularly well renowned for emphasizing some excellent freestyle based snowboards.

Nitro Snowboards was founded in Seattle, Washington, back in 1990. All the design work is still done in Seattle, where Nitro's design offices are still maintained. The actual creation and manufacturing of these snowboards is done in Europe, in the nation of Austria. Aside from the well known and popular snowboards, Nitro also offers bindings, boots, and other "soft goods." Over the years, Nitro has produced an impressive number of different snowboards, numbering over 300 different designs.

While Nitro has tons of different board designs, there are some which are more popular than others. The Nitro MFM and Nitro T1 are both two of the most popular board designs that Nitro has to offer.

The Nitro MFM is named for pro snowboarder and Nitro rider Marc Frank Montoya. Marc actually designed the board for jibbing rails, and is designed to make landings off snowboard rails much easier than with more conventional snowboards. Snowboarders who love this snowboard tend to especially comment on the amazing pop and right amount of flex to make this specialist snowboard one of the best of its kind.

The Nitro T1 is different. It is a twin-tip freestyle snowboard that features a core that is made out of solid poplar wood for a stiffer ride. This results in a ton of pop that the board will not lose over time. The T1 is also popular because it is very easy to take care of and repair, but this is a true freestyle snowboard built for tricks, not for speed. It's not very responsive on a powdery slope, and will drive a freecarver nuts.

These specialist snowboards aren't all that Nitro can do. They have a wide range of snowboards that keeps them popular with members all across the snowboarding community, and keeps this company one of the most respected around.
