Morrow Snowboards: Value Snowboards for 16 Years and Counting

Morrow Snowboards is a company that has been around the sport of snowboarding for quite sometime now, with over 16 years of business and counting. This company was founded by Rob Morrow, who acted as company President until 1995.

While originally Morrow's own company, in 1995 he stepped down as president of the company, which started a wildfire of rumors that this private company was actually going to become just the second snowboarding company to go public and release stock. These rumors turned out to be absolutely true.

Dennis Shelton took over for Rob Morrow as President, and in December of 1995 Morrow Snowboards did indeed become only the second snowboarding company to be publicly traded on the stock market. It originally traded at $11 a share. Since then the company has changed hands several times, and is now absorbed into Flextronics International.

So what does this mean to snowboarders? What do they think of when they talk about Morrow snowboards? Morrow snowboards, as well as Morrow bindings and boots, are known by most snowboarders as being generally as generic low end boards that are good for learning on, and tend to last long enough for beginners to learn enough to upgrade boards.

Morrow isn't going to compete with the best snowboards available like M3 or the best that Burton has to offer, but if you're looking for a board for a beginner, one that will hold up and last as the beginner learns, then Morrow is a pretty inexpensive solution. For more advanced snowboarders who are looking for a better board, Morrow probably isn't the best choice.

These boards are perfect for the beginners who want to learn how to snowboard, and are relatively cheap and affordable. If you're just learning, then obviously a $250 Morrow board will be a better buy for your need than a $1,000 specialist board. For the beginner interested in getting into the sport, Morrow boards are a great option.
