Lib Tech: Snowboarding and Skating Technology That's Hip and Cutting Edge

Lib Tech is a company that is a subsidiary of Mervin Manufacturing. Lib Tech is unusual in that it is a highly technical company that is constantly pushing and improving the designs of both skateboards and snowboards, will maintaining a very hip, cutting edge, Gen-X type of attitude. Most companies can do only one or the other, but Lib Tech has managed to honestly do both.

Lib Tech is located in the Pacific Northwest, and has spent several decades designing both cutting edge skateboards, as well as cutting edge snowboards. Lib Tech is known for incredible eye popping designs on both types of boards that jump out and get the admiring attention of anyone around. Their designs are some of the best that you can find.

In addition to the eye-popping designs, every year you know that Lib Tech is going to be coming out with more new designs for the cutting edge skaters and snowboarders to check out. In addition, whichever people are the brainpower behind their experimental testing part of the company are definitely outside of the box thinkers.

There are several different innovations that have been made by Lib Tech that have been embraced by the rest of the snowboarding world. Some of these include "Magne-traction," which is a snowboard with an undulated edge for improved holding on the edge, "Reverse camber," and Teflon bases are among the others.

The most recent "how did they ever think of that one?" idea from Lib Tech is the "Banana" board: all yellow with no camber and the undulated edge. This odd looking design has caused many to wonder if this is the edgiest snowboard ever, or if they've gone so far over the edge that this doesn't even count as a snowboard!
