Jeenyus snowboards never caught on as widespread as 'C1rca' or Burton snowboards, but they had a niche following. Jeenyus started out as an independent snowboard company whose boards were known for being better for beginners, as they were good for breaking into recreational snowboarding.
The board designs for Jeenyus tended to go the opposite ways of most of their rivals. Instead of going for flashier an showier boards that exploded with "cool" and "hip" designs that seemed to have enough going on to keep even the most attention deficit ADD paying attention, Jeenyus went for simpler designs that looked good, but didn't try too hard to be cool. This attitude of not needing one upsmanship on design had its fans, but also its detractors.
Jeenyus Snowboards was part of the Fourstar Distribution network along with C1rca, Forum, Blend, and Foursquare, among others. C1rca was doing well enough by itself that they avoided being bought out, but the others were bought out by Burton Snowboards. Jeenyus Snowboards doesn't make any new models, as their company is now part of the Burton line of snowboards. On a website they bragged about, "From Jeenyus you can expect the same high quality board as Burton, but with a little humor mixed in the style."
The buy out happened back in 2004, and even before the buyout there were some rumors in the snowboarding community that despite a niche following, they were on the verge of closing down anyway since profit margins were really very slim. Because Burton already had many good snowboards, the Jeenyus line of snowboards was officially set to phase out in the winter of 2006.
Jeenyus boards can still be found online on used snowboard stores, eBay, and other places. The company did have a niche following, so there is some demand for their boards, but if you're looking for a Jeenyus boar, you're going to have to look online for a used model.
