Thanks to yearlong snow and a nearby glacier in Altenmarkt, Austria - the site of Atomic Snowboards' headquarters and factory - the company's research and development team (R&D) is able to continue product development and testing even in the summer months. This prime testing spot in Austria provides Atomic Snowboards' researchers and developers, along with team riders, the ability to extend their work well into the summer and create new and cutting-edge Atomic Snowboards for the upcoming season.
Atomic's new snowboard line, conceived and created at the company R&D center, include the recent kids' models, the Tuesday, a new JR girl board, and the Revival, a new JR boy board. Atomic Snowboards has also created two new boards made especially for female snowboarders, the Tika and the Polarity. Besides thinking up and creating new board models, Atomic Snowboards' R&D team also improves snowboard technology by enhancing regular features. Atomic Snowboard has developed sprocket power boosters made of inter-titanium and inter-carbon, both light, non-organic materials that naturally maintain their shape and position, thereby promoting maximum rebound and minimal torsional effect.
While many others in the snowboarding biz impatiently await the first snowfall of the season, the Atomic Snowboard team is able to use this normally inactive time of the year to develop newer and faster snowboards, all thanks to the suitable climate and conditions at their Atomic Snowboard R&D center in Austria. Rain or shine, winter or summer, the Atomic Snowboard R&D team is hard at work in Altenmarkt, Austria. Perhaps that's the reason for Atomic Snowboards' successful achievement of two TWS Good Wood awards in just four years.
