So, you've heard of the new craze of snowboarding and you want to know what snowboard equipment you're going to need to get started. Well, here's a starter:
Obviously, in order to get yourself started as a snowboarder, you are going to need to get yourself kited out with a snowboard. Now, there are lots of boards out there and the board you choose will depend on whether or not you want to be an All Mountain, Freeride or FreeStyle boarder. So, take a close look at what the board can do for you before you think about purchasing a new one. In fact, if this is your first time, best to rent for now.
Almost as important as the snowboard itself is going to be the consideration you give to the ski boots and bindings you're going to wear. The boots and binding you end up getting will need to be reflected in the board you get. These days you basically have the more traditional strap binding or the newer step-in binding to chose from.
Once you have chosen the board and strapping you're going to use, the next important question you need to be asking yourself is what clothes to get. You'll need a snowboard jacket - and here you need to look for one that is both waterproof and stylish. You'll also need gloves - to keep your hands warm! Some people even like to wear wooly hats, to keep their heads warm.
Finally, you'll also need to wear a safety helmet as snowboarding is an extreme sport meaning there are dangers associated with it.
