Arguably one of (if not THE) the most recognizable brands in snowboarding, Burton Snowboards, the first such factory of its kind, was founded in 1977 by Jake Burton. In the years since its inception, the company has grown and expanded to incorporate virtually every facet of the sport; along with snowboards, Burton branded boots, bindings, packs, bags, clothing, and accessories are available. Burton snowboard products can be found in more than four-thousand specialty shops throughout the globe, the majority of which are in the US and Europe. The company does, however, own and operate three burton snowboard shops: one in Burlington, Vermont, the other in Wrentham, Massachusetts and the third and only one outside the US, in Innsbruck, Austria.
These Burton factory outlets offer virtually every single item produced by the company, across its broad range of brands. These include, but are not limited to Gravis footwear, R.E.D Impact Protection, Analog Clothing, and Anon Optics. And that's to say little, of course, about the extensive selection of Burton boards and clothing on offer. Based as it is in the company's Vermont headquarters, the Burlington Burton store is the flagship shop and also plays host to the Board Museum. The Wrentham store on the other hand allows riders to purchase the previous seasons' gear at reduced prices; a must for newbies and budget-minded snowboarders.
Like the shop found in the company's US headquarters, the Burton snowboard store in Innsbruck, Austria is located within Burton's European HQ. In addition to the expansive selection of gear and advice on offer, customers are free to play videogames and drink coffee while they browse.
You may not be able to get to one of the Burton shops, but through the miracle of online shopping, as facilitated by those ultra-handy links to your right, you can purchase Burton snowboard products (and pretty much ever other SB-related goodie) without ever having to set foot inside their snowboard shop. You don't even have to leave your chair. Let's see 'em top that!
