The word MARPAT stands for MARine PATtern, or Marpat. It is a digital camouflage pattern used by the United States Marine Corps. The pattern uses small pixels of color. Marpat, a trademark of the United States Marine Corps, is the "new camouflage" design. It also is known as the "Digital Pattern." Gortex was first introduced in 1978 and is a patented durable, windproof and waterproof fabric. Authorized garment manufacturers use gortex to make outerwear, accessories (including gloves), and footwear.
