Are You Prepared For The North Face Darkstar Sleeping Bags?

Well, well, well. You certainly don't skimp when it comes to outdoor equipment now do you? Yes sir, you've got expensive tastes. The Dark Star is one of the most impressive pieces of sleeping bag technology you will ever have the good fortune to come across. But then, you knew that already, didn't you? Maybe you already have a The North Face alpine light parka or the apparel from Th North Face. But do you know everything there is to know about this indispensable piece of expedition gear? You will. Introducing The North Face Darkstar sleeping bag.

Despite the somewhat goofy-sounding name, The North Face Dark Star is a serious sleeping bag. Not your ordinary snowboarding accessory. Not only is it suitable for use in some of the harshest, most inimical conditions on the planet, it thrives in them! Rated for temperatures of up to (or is that down to?) -40 degrees Celsius, it's the one sleeping bag that's perfect for your next vacation in the Arctic. Constructed from Polarguard Delta synthetics, the coffin/mummy shape design and the overlapping shingle technology keeps you in and the weather out.

A The North Face darkstar sleeping bag can accommodate a max user height of 198cm (an external length of 228cm); a hip circumference of 152cm; shoulder circumference of 163cm; and offers fill weight of 2220g. The stuffsack size is 30cm by 63cm. The total weight of the Dark Star is 2935g. Other features such as an external pillow pocket, adjustable draft collar, a head-level watch pocket, and one-hand color-coded pull cords make this worth every penny. And considering that it's the only thing between you and miles and miles of frozen tundra, icy glacial mountains or other such death-inducing wonders, those pennies are gonna seem pretty well spent. Typically, these The North Face sleeping bags run in excess of $300, but can be found for prices in the range of $250. Two lengths are available: long and regular.

You'd think with this many features, they'd let you choose whichever color you like, but amazingly enough, The North Face Dark Star bag is available in only a single color: The North Face Red/Asphalt Grey. What kind of customer service is that? Ludicrous I tell ya'! Pure madness. Okay, so we're just kidding. Our thinly veiled attempt at humor didn't amuse you? Frankly, we're pretty certain that in those kinds of temperatures, there's going to be no-one around to see and comment on the color of your sleeping bag. And if they are, they're probably more concerned with not freezing to death. So, yeah, a moot point.

So confident are The North Face in the quality construction of a The North Face Darkstar sleeping bag that it comes with a lifetime guarantee. Though, we're kinda assuming that if the bag doesn't work, you're not going to be able to get back to complain, but that's mostly just splitting hairs. Besides, it's still a lifetime guarantee... just not the one you were probably thinking about.

For a Dark Star North Face sleeping bag, and North Face products of pretty much every conceivable description; even those that aren't suitable for quite so extreme climes (hey, there's no shame in liking a little warmth), mosey on over to the right-hand side links.
