There can be no arguing that the Three Bs -- boots, board, and
bindings -- are the most vital aspect of your snowboarding gear,
but having said that, you're going to need snow boarding clothes
to keep you nice and warm while out on the slopes. Unless of
course you belong to some weird branch of the Polar Bear Club, but
we're just going to go ahead and assume you're in the minority as
far as that's concerned. Snowboarding, at the end of the day, is
all about fun, but deep-down everyone knows that 'doing it' simply
isn't enough and that it's just as important to look good while
doing it. And to help you do that weve put together a little
something to help you find those snowboarding apparel that'll make
you the envy of guys and the fantasy of snow bunnies everywhere.
(Please Note: snow bunny fantasy cannot be guaranteed. After all,
the black hole gravity of some peoples uncoolness cannot be
cured. We apologize for any momentary delusions of grandeur we may
have caused.)
Brand-name snowboard clothing, while hardly vital (and may in fact get you laughed at if you deck yourself out entirely in one brand) is one way to go and for the sake of completeness we've gone ahead and listed some of the better known ones down below. Please keep in mind that the snowboard apparel list is far from comprehensive, it's just something to help spur the imagination next time you're out shopping.
Your average snowboarder's outfit, snowboard pant (or just about any winter outfit, actually) is usually comprised of three different 'layers', the so-called base layer, the second layer, and the third and final outer layer. Typically, the base layer consists of warm insulating clothes that cover your body pretty much from the neck down. Cotton material should be avoided as it absorbs water, which as you can no doubt guess is a sure-fire way to keep you chilly no matter how much you wear on top of it. The second layer will probably be comprised of a sweater or fleece and the final outer one your pants, jacket, gloves and hat. The last two items are of course optional, but come highly recommended.
Something to keep in mind when putting on or purchasing your snowboarder clothes is that you should always be able to tuck clothes into or tightly over one another (pants over the top of your boots; socks over your long underwear; gloves under your jacket sleeve) because snow and cold has an amazing ability to get in everywhere. It can find any weakness in your defense and exploit it! You have been warned.
Also, good snowboard clothing doesn't come cheap and to protect your investment it's a good idea to get hold of fabric care products that can clean and help maintain the integrity and effectiveness of your clothes.
Now that you're ready to swag up with the most cutting-edge snowboarding fashion (or not), click your way on over to the right side of this article. There you'll be able to, through the magic of the internet, hyperlink your way to some of the best deals on snowboarder clothing and apparel this side of the Arctic Circle. Of course, we've never been to the Arctic Circle, but we think it's a safe assumption.
