Winter's on its way, or depending on where you are in the world, it's already past, but if there's one thing you can count on (aside from death and taxes that is) it's that winter will be back again. Maybe even next year! So, of course, it never hurts to start getting your snowboarding equipment together. Evaluate what you don't need or have outgrown or have simply worn to the nub from extended use over the years, and decide what the essential purchases for the upcoming season are going to be. The thing is, if price alone is the determining factor in your next (or first) snowboard goggle purchase, you're almost certainly going to be disappointed. You need to weigh up a number of important factors and take into account varying considerations (of which price is but one, admittedly an important one though). A cheap snowboard goggle fit is undoubtedly the single most important aspect as it is this that will determine how comfortable and how effective they are, and ultimately, whether or not they are a worthwhile purchase. There's no magic rule to determine the best goggle fit, because, frankly, you don't need one. If they feel good on your face then they more than likely fit just fine. Now that was easy, wasn't it?
Yet another thing to consider is lens color. Orange and yellow are the most pervasive simply because they are the best all-purpose solution, suitable for most any condition. Other colors such as the so-called rose tints offer increased contrast. While the lens color and even a discount snowboarding goggles design may look awesome, it's probably a good idea to make sure that you can actually see through them before making a purchase. Just a thought. Cheap snowboard goggles fare perhaps the worst in this respect, namely, with regards to the warranty. So when buying a pair of goggles, check to see how long the warranty extends for and what it covers exactly. Replacement lenses can be purchased, but that's not something you should have to or want to worry about just weeks after buying your goggles, right?
